Sleep is one of the three pillars of life according to Ayurveda, the other two being food and sex. Sleep deprivation is now a global epidemic, and research has linked it to a laundry list of illnesses, including anxiety, depression, heart attack, rheumatoid arthritis, and osteoporosis, just to name a few. We will look at why sleep is so hard to come by, do's and don'ts of a sleep routine, foods and herbs that encourage sleep, sleep patterns according to dosha, and how to bring it all into balance.
