Welcoming 2024 on the Path of Peace 

Happy January, I mean February….. whoops it is now March.

Happy Belated New Year

I took this photo early Christmas morning while walking Phil. Even though I have walked this street many times, I most love walking it during the morning hours when there is a stillness, peaceful, clear, harmonious, or sattvic, quality in the air. I take these times for contemplation, purposefully looking at the sky, the trees, grass, flowers, and shrubs. I look to nature for signs or guideposts that direct me inward to my intuition. 

Each year, I choose three words or phrases as my guideposts. I felt inspired while walking on this road." Inspired action" is one of my words/phrases and my work for this upcoming year: letting go of the "shoulds” and remaining attuned to what is inspiring and feeds my soul. Making peace a priority is one of those things, and this quote by Lao Tzu speaks so profoundly about this. We can’t find peace outside of us until there is peace within. 

 We are the very source of peace we hope to see in the world. It starts with building a relationship with our beating and energetic hearts and then spreads outward. When our hearts are full, unconditional love is released, and compassion flows from there. 

This is when we become a mirror of love that is pervasive outside us. When this happens, others feel vulnerable and open, and then they are filled with compassion. Think of it as a domino effect. The work then becomes not to be attached if one has a wall around their heart and cannot mirror the reflection. Regardless, we keep our peace and stay in love. When we do, we will experience the world as a more peaceful and loving place as we become more peaceful and loving, which is our true nature. The only way out is in, and what is inside will inform the external.

I wish you all an inspired, peaceful 2024 filled with compassion and love.

The new yoga space is coming along nicely. I am excited to share many different types of offerings. Once we are back in the house and settled, I will also bring back the free full moon ghee classes and other cooking classes.

Lastly, I have been holding off for a long time but must implement a slight price adjustment for my treatments. I keep these as nominal as possible, but my operating costs (sheets, oils, supplies, etc.) have risen. To accommodate this, my service fees will increase by $5.00 each.
