Stewed Apples For Fall

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 sweet apples peeled, seeded, and cored

  • 1 tsp ghee

  • 1-star anise 

  • 1 3” cinnamon stick

  • 3 cardamom pods

  • 4 cloves

  • 1/4” fresh ginger

  • 1-2 dates, seeds removed

  • Enough water to cover apples

DIRECTIONS:

  • Peel, seed, and core the apples. Add the ghee to a pan and heat. Add the spices, stir to coat, and allow to become aromatic. Add the apples, stir to coat, and add enough water to cover the apples. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and cover. Cook for 10 minutes until the apples are soft. 

  • Remove the apples from the water and enjoy mindfully.

    *You may also make this with ground spices.
