Stewed Apples For Fall

INGREDIENTS:
2 sweet apples peeled, seeded, and cored
1 tsp ghee
1-star anise
1 3” cinnamon stick
3 cardamom pods
4 cloves
1/4” fresh ginger
1-2 dates, seeds removed
Enough water to cover apples
DIRECTIONS:
Peel, seed, and core the apples. Add the ghee to a pan and heat. Add the spices, stir to coat, and allow to become aromatic. Add the apples, stir to coat, and add enough water to cover the apples. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and cover. Cook for 10 minutes until the apples are soft.
Remove the apples from the water and enjoy mindfully.
*You may also make this with ground spices.
